Class Info/Description:

BBMCS
School Year 2009-2010
First Grade 1-A

Welcome to BBMCS!

My name is Ramona Nakamura and I will be your child’s teacher for this school year. It is my goal to have open communication with my students, parents, other teachers, support staff and administrators. It is my hope that together we can work as a team to strengthen the self-esteem, confidence, and discipline of each child. I hope that each student grows in independence and learns to take responsibility for one’s actions. Please encourage your child to put a lot of effort into learning and stress the importance of learning. Be supportive. Make it a habit to check your child’s planner daily for assignments or notices. Notes will be sent home regarding incomplete or late assignments, disruptive behavior, excessive absences/tardiness, or outstanding performance on tests. You will see faces noted in the planner each day indicating your child’s behavior. Please initial the planner and use it as a tool for providing comments. Feel free to communicate with me if there are any problems you would like to discuss. You are welcome to call the school at 477-4010 if you have any questions or concerns. I am here early and I usually stay late. Let’s join together to teach your child to be a responsible OBISPO.

Other Info:

Dear Parents,
You will be seeing the following symbols in your child’s planner. They will indicate your child’s behavior in class that day.

=) Great Behavior, good listening
= | Needed some reminders to stay on task
=( Received 3 warnings to stay on task, given a time out. I will make short comments on the infractions. If a child is scolded by another teacher, he/she is automatically given a sad face.

Thank you,

Ramona Nakamura
